EQF NCP Project

By the end of 2009, the European Commission published a call for projects submitted within lifelong learning programmes (LLP) for support to activities conducted by EQF National Coordination Points. The deadline for submissions was 28 February 2010. The EQF NCP employees developed a project which was accepted by the European Commission without objections.  

The EQF NCP, in every detail, determines the way to follow in the Czech Republic during the process of referencing of the National Qualifications Framework to the European Qualifications Framework. It is divided into eight activities:

Activity 1: Referencing of qualifications acquired within general education

The objective of this activity is to clarify the problem area related to successful completion of the process of referencing of the National Qualifications Framework to the European Qualifications Framework. The expert institutions which were asked for cooperation during development of the Study on Referencing of Qualifications Acquired through General Education were the relevant MEYS departments and the Research Institute of Education in Prague (VÚP). The Study will be used as a source for elaboration of the referencing report.

Activity 2: Process of referencing and the statement of EQF levels on all certificates

The objective of this activity is to clarify the problem area related to successful completion of the process of referencing of the National Qualifications Framework to the European Qualifications Framework. The expert institutions which were asked for cooperation during development of the Study on the Statement of EQF Levels on All Certificates were the relevant MEYS departments as well as the National EUROPASS Centre. The Study will be used as the source for elaboration of the referencing report.

Activity 3:  Quality assurance in education

The objective of this activity is to clarify the problem area related to successful completion of the process of referencing of the National Qualifications Framework to the European Qualifications Framework. The expert institutions which were asked for cooperation during development of the studies on quality assurance at the secondary and tertiary levels were the relevant MEYS departments as well as the National EUROPASS Centre.  The studies will be used as a source for elaboration of the referencing report.

Activity 4: Referencing of qualifications in tertiary education

The objective of this activity is to clarify the problem area related to successful completion of the process of referencing of the National Qualifications Framework to the European Qualifications Framework. The expert institutions which were asked for cooperation during development of the Study on Referencing of Qualifications in Tertiary Education were the relevant MEYS departments as well as the Centre for Higher Education Studies. The Study will be used as one of the source documents for elaboration of the referencing report.

Activity 5: Promotion of use of EQF in the world of work

The objective of the activity is to inform the public about the general principles of the European Qualifications Framework (EQF) and its referencing to the National Qualifications Framework. The target group are representatives from the world of work (employers and trade unions). The activity is based on a series of seminars organized in regions of the Czech Republic by the EQF Coordination Point. The activity will include compilation of informative texts about the EQF and referencing, with focus on the above mentioned target groups.

Activity 6: Elaboration and translation of the Report on the Referencing

The objective of the activity is to compile and translate the resulting product of the EQF NCP project – the Report on the Referencing of the Czech National Qualifications Framework to the European Qualifications Framework. The activity will mostly draw from the studies developed within activities 1 to 4. The institution responsible for the elaboration is the EQF Coordination Point.

Outputs from the activity:

  1. First version of the Report on the Referencing (October 2010)
  2. Ensuring reflections from relevant stakeholders within six meetings (November 2010 to March 2011)
  3. Two national experts travelling to a work meeting focused on elaborating the referencing report in other European countries (Austria, Netherlands – May 2010 to March 2011)

 

Activity 7: National conference for stakeholders involved

The activity is based on organizing a national conference as a conclusion of the process of referencing the European Qualifications Framework to the National Qualifications Framework. It will take place on 11 March 2011

Output from the activity:

  • The national conference as a conclusion of the process of referencing the European Qualifications Framework to the National Qualifications Framework.
